I want to rent a room in your heart,
for how long I do not know,
but if I cannot have
the whole of it,
then I would like to rent a part,
I would light the room with
honey waxed candles,
paint the walls
with gentle strokes
of ocean colours,
fill the air with the scent of
warm damask rose,
devote a corner for a shrine,
silken rugs woven
by ancient Persian hands,
would brush against
soft soundless steps
as you walk by;
I would honour my tenancy
with all my soul,
in the hope of a permanent place.
Beautiful
